In 2007, I was honored to be appointed Director of the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. For eight years, I worked alongside dedicated professionals to modernize policy, balance economic development with regulation, and create space for both large corporations and local small businesses to thrive.
That role changed the way I understand law and leadership. It taught me the value of listening to all stakeholders, of finding practical paths through politically charged issues, and of keeping the long-term good in focus—even when short-term challenges made it hard.
It also reminded me that the law isn’t just about rules—it’s about people. And when the law works well, everyone benefits: families, neighborhoods, and the broader community.
Now, back in private practice, I carry those lessons with me as I continue serving the people of Arkansas with purpose and clarity.
